Nestled in the heart of Singapore at 100 Jln Sultan, #01-17B, The Pound is not just a cafe; it’s a cozy haven for coffee enthusiasts and dessert lovers alike. As soon as you step into this intimate space, you are welcomed by the warm smile of the Korean lady owner, whose friendly demeanor sets the perfect tone for a relaxing afternoon.

The Pound may be located in an older mall, but its charm is undeniable. The cafe exudes a laid-back vibe, making it an ideal spot for unwinding with a cup of expertly brewed coffee. Whether you're catching up with friends or enjoying some quiet time by yourself, the ambience invites you to savor every moment.

The menu features an array of delightful offerings that keep patrons coming back for more. While the elusive tiramisu cake has gained a bit of a cult following, the sweet potato cake stands out as a true gem. Priced at just $5.50, its delightful taste and texture are a testament to the quality you can expect at The Pound. Customer Kenny Yap raves about it, eagerly recounting his journey to finally get to try a piece of this sweet bliss.

As you browse through the menu, you might find yourself captivated by the black sesame cake. One visitor, Alicia Hon, mentioned enjoying this cake with its creamy topping and crunchy crumbles, although she noted that it leaned a bit on the sweeter side. Each bite is a harmonious blend of flavors that invites you to linger just a little longer over your dessert.

The cafe has its quirks, including limited operating hours on weekends, which only adds to its charm. Matthew Lee recalls how the mall is quiet on Saturdays, allowing for a serene escape from the usual hustle and bustle. Make sure to visit early enough to grab a slice of their renowned swiss rolls or the much-discussed tiramisu; they tend to sell out quickly!

Apart from the outstanding desserts and coffee, it’s the welcoming atmosphere created by the passionate staff that truly elevates your experience at The Pound. As shared by Jon Loh, the friendly interactions you have here leave a lasting impression, making you feel like part of a special community.

In a city filled with dining options, The Pound stands out as a must-visit cafe that not only satisfies your sweet tooth but also wraps you in warmth and hospitality. Whether you’re in the mood for a leisurely afternoon or a quick coffee break, this lovely spot deserves a spot on your Singapore cafe crawl.

Great vibes. Nice coffee. By the time I was here, the cakes were almost all sold out. Must come again for their swiss rolls.

Somehow I have been wanting to visit this place for very long, but it's always difficult because their weekend timings are kinda odd as they open till afternoon on Sat and is closed on Sun. Finally got to visit on Saturday before it closed and was glad that there was still a good selection of cakes available to choose from. Location of the place is rather quiet on a weekend, the mall is also rather quiet not really frequented by many. I thought was a Japanese lady but turned out she is Korean. Her service was quite good and she is pretty soft spoken and manages the cafe alone. There's quite a selection of cakes but I got my attention on two of them, which was the matcha roll and the sweet potato cake. Of course have to start eating the sweet potato one first as the matcha taste is much stronger and might overwhelm the taste buds. Really enjoyed the sweet potato cake. It was light and not sweet, could taste the layers of the sweet potato paste which was smooth. But for me the highlight has to be the matcha roll, seriously one of the best I have tasted. It's slightly on the more pronounced side but I loved it a lot. Looks simple and also aesthetically pleasing. Also ordered an iced royal milk tea. Didn't expect the drink to look like that with a slice of orange. I have to say it was special as the orange slice did enhance the flavours of the milk tea. Very enjoyable tea time at very reasonable prices and place is nice to chill, definitely peaceful. Only feedback was should have more non-coffee drinks for selection. Recommended!

Came here 3x and have not managed to try their elusive tiramisu cake. Nonetheless on my third visit I had the chance to try their sweet potato cake ($5.50) which was delightful tasting. For the price, the quality is really there. The cafe is located inside a pretty old mall, but the Korean lady owner makes up for it with her friendliness. If you’re there, take some time to also appreciate the little details which makes the cafe a little more sophisticated and charming than meets the eye.

Had a black sesame cake on a weekday afternoon. The store owner is very kind and offered me water with the cake. The cake is covered in cream and crunchy crumbles which added more layers to the cake. The cake is decent but a little too sweet for personal preference. The aroma of the black sesame is a little overwhelmed by the sweetness. Nevertheless, an enjoyable experience.

Enjoyed a lovely, peaceful teatime treat at this hidden gem of a cafe - sweet potato cake slice and cappuccino. Cake was light and moist, layered with sweet potato filling and topped with delectable fresh cream. Coffee was good. Will be back to try the other cakes!

I’ve recently discovered this charming Korean cafe. The atmosphere is warm and homely, with an friendly Korean lady who mans the cafe herself. I ordered a cake set, which consists of a cake and a latte of my choice. ($10.50) They also offer a different cake set with an americano, which costs $9.00 . I got the sweet potato cake and an iced cafe latte. The sweet potato cake is an absolute standout – a perfect blend of sweetness and texture. And the coffee goes well with it too. The only downside to this cafe is that it’s pretty small, but a good hidden gem.
